Warner Bros. and director David Yates are hard at work putting together a new incarnation of the classic Edgar Rice Burroughs tale of Tarzan. Though it’s still in the very early stages, it looks like they’ve even got a release date all lined up. If you want to see this new jungley action-adventure, look to the year 2016 and the day of July 1st.
The newest release will, of course, be shot in 3D, so people can experience the muscled, loincloth-wearing Tarzan in all his in-your-face glory. The movie brings together a cast of Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood) at the titular character, Margot Robbie (Neighbours, Wolf of Wall Street) as his love interest, Jane. Also coming along for the adventure are Samuel L. Jackson (every movie ever made) and Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds).
No word on exactly what rating they’re going for, but I’d guess a solid PG will bring in the masses that they’re hoping to attract. So sorry, Nerd Readers, there will be no Tarzan/Jane jungle sexy time. You’ll have to go delve into the fanfic for that.
