With a year long delay under its belt, it looks like the eagerly anticipated RPG based on Trey Parker and Matt Stone‘s South Park will finally see the light of day. In a quiet and unassuming press release it was announced that the South Park Digital Studios‘ and Obsidian Entertainment developed game is (finally) done and ready to be shipped to retailers (for real this time).
Ubisoft Entertainment SA, the game’s publisher, made the announcement on Wednesday that the game was officially certified ‘gold’ and will see its North American release on March 4th (with Australia and Europe to follow on the 6th and 7th respectively,) across PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Here is seven glorious minutes of game play:
You’re excited now, right? That’s okay, I am excited enough for both of us. Come on, one of the games five playable classes is the high risk/high reward “Jew” class. The level of immersion and detail into the world of foul mouthed schoolkids from Colorado looks amazing. For serial, guys.
After multiple delays (and the bankruptcy of the games original developer, THQ,) fans shared in Stone and Parker’s pain with this past season’s fantasy/console war theme episodes “Black Friday“, “A Song of Ass and Fire“and, “Titties and Dragons” that referenced the games seemingly bleak future.
Now? We have three weeks to get ready, so you know what that means…
