It seems like with every scary bit of news we get about Batman Vs. Superman (seriously, just click that link and take your pick of all of the potentially good/likely bad/all around scary news), we get something reassuring from Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and this news is no different. If you’ve been wondering just how closely Age of Ultron is going to follow the comic book design of Scarlet Witch’s costume, then you’re in luck! See what Elizabeth Olsen had to say about her new threads after the jump!

For those hoping that they’d maintain the sense of realism that’s been developed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (which is about as much realism as you can get when one of your stars is a giant green rage monster), you’ll be happy to know that seems to be the direction in which they’re taking it.

We’ve done some costume stuff, yeah! My favourite piece is my secrecy cloak that prevents anyone from seeing what I’m wearing. There’s a hood, and a robe – it protects the image! I don’t think Joss ever would have hired me, honestly, if he wanted me to wear those outfits; I am not a professional athlete and nor am I a model. Wearing those costumes wouldn’t be fun for anyone who wasn’t those things. He already had a different idea. It respects and involves the comic-book character but it’s different, more rooted. It’s for someone today. Well, if someone walked around wearing what she wore in the comics, people would stop and say, ‘What the hell… she thinks she’s a superhero!’

She doesn’t give much detail (I know, I was hoping for a similar breakdown to the rumored look for The Vision from last week) other than that it’s realistic while staying true to the character’s original design, making the point that the comic book costume would feel a little farfetched.

I’m still curious, though, just how Scarlet Witch and her brother Quicksilver, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, will come into play during the movie. I know that’s asking for a bit much, but I bet it’d clue us in more as to what the costume would look like. Are we getting something with a somewhat homemade feel to it, like some of the costumes in Arrow? Perhaps some sort of high-tech S.H.I.E.L.D. get-up?

I’m sure we’ll be seeing some pics of the design sooner or later, but what do you think, Nerd Readers? Let us know what you make of her comments, and what you’d like to see be carried over from the original costume!
