Usually, television spots and trailers and all that marketing jazz are pretty careful about keeping the best and most relevant moments of a movie hidden away for the actual movie. The latest Captain America: The Winter Solider television spot, however, looks to be throwing some bold footage around, even hinting that we may have seen the last of a particular, long-running Marvel movie character. Check out the video below and see what you think about it.
In case you missed it, the key moment is when Mr. Captain America himself mentions something about “Fury’s last words”. Which some are speculating means that Fury will be biting the big one this time around. Of course, that could also mean that Fury went on vacation or happens to have gone to the bathroom right before that scene.
Okay, maybe not.
The footage we’ve seen thus far has shown Fury in a precarious situation, so it’s likely that he at least ends up hospitalized. The question is, would Marvel decide that it’s time for Samuel L. Jackson to start taking on other projects and leave the Marvel universe behind? I mean, the guy can’t be in every movie until the end of time, right? Strike that. I’m sure Jackson would play Fury until his hair was grey and his bowels were no longer under his own control.
Still, it’s interesting to speculate on what might be happening with the new Captain America flick.
See the truth behind the speculation when Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits the big screens in a few short weeks, on April 4th.
