Word is making the Internet rounds that the Arrow spin-off series The Flash has cast Michelle Harrison to play Nora Allen, the mother of Barry Allen, the Flash (Grant Gustin). Wait, didn’t Barry say she was dead in that episode of Arrow?
Yep, he sure did, but there are ways around that. She could only appear in some kind of flashbacks, but more likely the Flash will see her alive and well in the past. He does have the ability to move through time using his powers to tap into the Speed Force. What’s the Speed Force?
The Speed Force is an energy source in the DC Universe generated by Barry Allen that lets speedsters travel at otherwise impossible speeds as well as do other nifty tricks without being hindered by physics.
He probably won’t even really be in control the first time he uses his powers and perhaps he’ll skip back in time and end up where he’ll see one of the most important people in his life. Who doesn’t get in trouble and think about their Mom? Because who else can always fix things?
If you’re trying to remember where you’ve seen Harrison before, there are a ton of shows and movies to choose from. She has a very active acting career with a lot of episodic work in series like: House M.D., Cold Case, Fringe, V, Supernatural, Eureka and tons more.
The pilot episode script was a collaborative effort between series co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, and comic book writer Geoff Johns. The premiere date is sometime in 2016, so there’s plenty of time to come up with crazy ideas to explain Barry Allen’s dead mother in the series..
