In Not-Really-Internet-Breaking-News Sony has confirmed that Marc Webb will be returning to direct The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Everyone pretty much expected this, Webb has been the driving creative force behind the Spider-Man reboot. Webb was talking trilogy before the first had even started shooting.

What’s really interesting is tying it all together. Webb back in the director chair, Andrew Garfield locked in for a third film, even Paul Giamatti has committed to a second run as the Rhino in the third Spider-Man film.

Variety reports:

In December, Sony announced Alex Kurtzman will direct “Venom” from a script he’s writing with his longtime collaborator Roberto Orci, as well as Ed Solomon. Drew Goddard will write “The Sinister Six” with an eye to direct. Neither film has been dated, and both are in development at the studio. Marc Webb will direct “The Amazing Spider-Man 3,” securing his spot in helming all three films in the trilogy. The third pic is dated for release in June 2016.

All the teasers and trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has hinted at other Spider-Man villains coming to the big screen. Having Marc Webb back for the third film will help in the development of these new Spider-Man spin offs as those villains are sure to show up in bigger than Easter Eggs roles for the third film.
I guess we can start speculating on who might play those villains. Who do we have to cast? There’s the Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, and the Sandman.
I’ll just throw these two out there:
Jason Momoa for Kraven the Hunter
Colm Feore as the Vulture
Who would you cast?
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theater screens May 2nd.
