Since Captain America: The Winter Soldier went into production (if not before), we’re heard about how it was going to be more than superhero movie and be something more akin to the political thrillers of the 1970s, but so far the trailers have emphasized the action and adventure. Hey, don’t get us wrong, we love that $#!%, but what about that political stuff we were promised? Well, maybe this is where it starts.
In a clip from courtesy of Comic Book Movie, an extended TV spot if you will, we see S.H.I.E.L.D. under greater scrutiny in the post-Battle of New York world, forced to answer the tough questions as to whether or not they can keep the world safe. Probably an understandable question with the Winter Soldier running around blowing stuff up. We also get to see a bit more of the budding partnership between Cap and the Falcon.
But why listen to me tell you what’s in the clip when you could just watch the darn thing for yourself. Conveniently, it’s embedded for you below:
Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens in theaters April 4.
