The NBC adaptation of DC/Vertigo’s Hellblazer comic series is in full force. And as production moves ahead, one of the first things to deal with is, naturally, a little bit of casting. It looks like we’ve got a number of faces showing up this week, slowly filling the ranks of colorful characters that make the world of Constantine their home. Scroll on to see who is coming on board thus far.
First and foremost, actor Charles Halford (True Detective) will be playing Frank William Chandler (AKA Chas), best buddy to the titular character. Lucy Griffiths (Robin Hood) will be jumping into the role of Liv. And last but not least, Harold Perrineau (Lost) will be taking on the job of becoming Manny, Constantine’s guardian angel.
I can’t pretend I know who any of these actors are (sorry folks), but at least it looks like NBC is indeed pushing forward on Constantine. So, for better or for worse, we’re going to get a chance to see what a major network version of this property will end up looking like. Me, I’m a bit skeptical that they can do this without sanitizing it so much that it loses its flavor.
Thanks to Bleeding Cool for the heads-up.
