oscar selfie in lego

Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut. Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at nerdybits@nerdbastards.com.

ABOVE: I’m pretty sure I’m the only person in the world who was not enamored with Ellen’s Oscar selfie. I am, however, completely enamored with Iain Heath’s LEGO version.  [Neatorama

Anvos is expanding their Battlestar Galactica line with a collection inspired by Six, featuring her red dress and jewelry.  Check out Fashionably Geek for more photos.

Etsy seller Identity Productions presents ‘the Reichenbachmark!’ It’s perfect for saving your place while you read some Arthur Conan Doyle. The bookmark is handmade and heat laminated to protect it from water damage and the tears of Tumblr users.

7th doctor vest

I love everyday cosplay, but usually it’s only girls that get to have fun with covert costumes. Thanks to ThinkGeek and their 7th Doctor’s vest, guys can get in on the action too.

Okay, personal story, I’m legally blind, so Geordi La Forge was always an iconic character to me. Although his blindness was mentioned on TNG, his character wasn’t defined by it. That was pretty amazing to see on television. It seems like Etsy seller Eyephoria Design was also inspired by Geordi because they created this awesome VISOR ring! The ring is made to order using 3D printing technology and takes about 3 to 4 weeks for delivery. [Fashionably Geek]

warrior peach

Alexia Jean Grey as Warrior Princess Peach is pretty much the best thing ever. See more pictures, by Travis Photography, over at GeekxGirls.

Hold onto your butts! You can now access the Jurassic Park security system straight from your browser. Just remember to say the magic word. [Gizmodo]

Camille and Kennerly Kitt are cosplaying Harry Potter harp twins! Watch them frolic through the woods, cast some spells and play Hedwig’s theme on the harp. Check out their YouTube channel because they also play the Game of Thrones theme. [Geekologie]

Patrick Bateman would definitely be jealous of this business card! It plays Tetris! [BoingBoing]

Brock Baker flawlessly impersonates 33 Simpsons’ characters in 5 minutes. [pleated-jeans]
