Feeling unloved? Then why not sign up for Nerd Block where with a $19.99 monthly subscription you’ll get a box of cool shit mailed to your house every month! Currently partnered with Marvel, Nintendo, DC, Disney, Doctor Who, and Star Wars, it’s basically guaranteed you’re gonna get something you’ll love. Each package contains a limited-edition T-shirt and a selection of five or six nerd-themed toys (which is pretty spiffy for the price!), sent out around the 15th of every month and shipped all around the world. And, if you sign up and hate the packages, you can cancel at any time.
You wont hate it though. Not unless you’re a curmudgeon who doesn’t like receiving packages in the mail. I mean, who doesn’t like coming home to find a mystery box on their door step, to which you immediately reenact that scene from Seven – “What’s in the box… what’s in the box?!”?
I can personally attest to how cool it is getting a shipment from Nerd Block.
I initially forget that I had a Nerd Block shipment coming. The random box on my doorstep surprised me and excited curiosity got the best of me. I grabbed that sucker and ran it into the house like Batman running with a comically sized bomb. Grabbed a knife and gutted that box like a skilled surgeon. Oh, what nerdy wonders await.
While opening the flap of the box, my breath was held, while Zelda treasure chest music played in my head. Ta Da! Oh joy, there be swag in the box and lots of it. My box contained a Luke Skywalker vinyl figure from Pop! Television, a wee tiny Joker keychain, a mini Portal Sentry Turret figure, Mario Bros. Star stress ball, an Iron Stan t-shirt and a Iron Man 3 papercraft playset from Boxos (not pictured).
The novelty of possessing NEW and unexpected things is an unmistakable joy. It’s kind of like Christmas in that sense. Here’s stuff I want, things I need, and things I never knew I wanted. The mystery of not knowing what you’re gonna get, to that rush of opening your package to discover what goods lay inside.. it feels like you looted a nerd pirate’s treasure trove.
What more can I say, other than it’s fun and ridiculously cool. I’ll add that Nerd Block is affordable and gives you a lot of bang for your buck. If I were to buy these items individually at retail, I’d spend 40 or so dollars. Nerd Block IS value. To those who are hesitant about buying blindly, I say that you’re not a high level nerd until your house and work is riddled with nerdy treasures. Worst case scenario, you’ve got items you can re-gift to your nerdy friends. It’s all worth it.
Treat. Yo. Self. Head on over to Nerd Block and get your first order in for April. You won’t regret it.
