According to the star of Brett Ratner‘s Hercules: The Thracian Wars (AKA: the Hercules film people MAY actually watch), we can expect a teaser trailer in two weeks time.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Tweeted this two days ago:

This new Hercules flick is based on the comic series Hercules: The Thracian Wars created by Steve Moor and Admira Wijaya and adapted by Ryan Condal and Evan Spiliotopoulos. In this version, Herc works as a mercenary for hire along with five companions, until he is hired by the king of Thrace to take down a powerful warlord.

The film is being directed by Brett Ratner, as previously mentioned–and boasts a quite remarkable international cast including: Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan, John Hurt, Rebecca Ferguson, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Aksel Hennie, and Reece Ritchie.

By the by, I haven’t seen Rufus Sewell since he starred in my favorite movie: The under-appreciated Dark City. I’d go see this film just to see HIM working again 🙂

Hercules: The Thracian Wars is currently in post-production, but is due in theatres July 25, 2015

PS: This is the movie that Renny Harlin rushed his version–The Legend of Hercules–into theatres to beat. He succeeded in dressing a talking pork roast in a “Gladiator” Halloween costume, and making one of the worst movies of the year, so far.
