Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been pretty shy about treading new water in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has seemed content to revel in what’s been done so far, but that seems to be changing, and has been changing, in recent episodes. Recently, the series unveiled the method of Coulson’s resurrection, a serum from a mysterious blue alien. The origin of the alien has been much discussed, and while nothing’s ever been confirmed, the consensus was that the alien was a member of the Kree Empire. Believe it or not internet, you were right. At least according to series star Chloe Bennet.
On the red carpet at the recent PaleyFest installment about S.H.I.E.L.D., Bennet, who plays computer hacker Skye on the show, confirmed the identity of Skye’s – and Coulson’s – top secret healthcare plan. “I know that the alien was a Kree, and I was injected with a serum made from that,” she told reporters in the video below.
Well, glad that’s settled. As for the fallout of getting injected with Kree juice, Bennet says that she’d like “an awesome pair of wings like Falcon,” but more seriously she says that she’s been trying to study up on the Kree by going to the local Meltdown Comics and hitting the source material. She also added the exact repercussions of the use of the Kree remedy will be explored, specifically why it almost killed Coulson and why Skye seems to have bounced back with no ill effects.
In other news, Bennet talked about developing Coulson and Skye’s “father-daughter” relationship, looking forward to learning the deal with Skye’s parents, and obviously, the answer is yes, yes she would like to see Skye make the jump to some Marvel movies.
