Although the first Avengers film had plenty of action and was loads of fun, a couple of things that some feel it didn’t have enough of were The Hulk and Hawkeye. Aside from the travesty that was the 2008 Incredible Hulk film, neither of these two characters has gotten a movie of their own, despite cries from fans. Now, it appears as if Marvel Overlord Kevin Feige has heard the wail of the masses, proclaiming that both characters will see expanded roles in the new Avengers: Age of Ultron.
In a recent interview with JoBlo, Feige chatted about many things (mostly about the Captain America: The Winter Soldier release), but when asked about the potential for a solo Hulk film, he went on to say these words:
I would love to do that with Mark Ruffalo. But part of the fun of Age of Ultron was saying, ‘You’ve seen another Iron Man adventure before, you see another Thor adventure and another Cap adventure, but we haven’t seen the Green Goliath again.’ So that was important in the characters you haven’t seen – Hulk being one of them and Hawkeye being one of them – Ultron will make up for it. They have very big parts in The Age of Ultron.
The question still remains – what exactly constitutes “very big”? Is Feige just promising this to get more hype for the film? Or will these two characters really have important, plot-driven roles to play? And if they get more screen time, will this ultimately cause fans to cry out even louder for some new solo movies?
Check out Avengers: Age of Ultron when it hits the big screen on May 1st, 2015.
