Jurassic World is beefing up its cast, and announcing that three new provocative actresses are joining the cast for the long in the works third sequel to Jurassic Park. Late yesterday it was reported that Judy Greer (Arrested Development), Katie McGrath (Merlin) and Lauren Lapkus (Orange is the New Black) are joining the dino-fun alongside Chris Pratt, Vincent D’Onofrio and Bryce Dallas Howard.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting the casting of the three actresses, who are joining the film in yet-to-be determined roles. Greer has been familiar face in a great many film and TV projects, but she’s perhaps most famous for playing George Senior’s slightly unstable secretary Kitty “Say Goodbye to These” Sanchez in Arrested Development. McGrath, meanwhile, will be recognizable to fans for playing Morgana on all five season on Merlin, and recently for playing Lucy Westenra in NBC’s Dracula, while Lapkus was last seen playing prison guard Susan Fischer in the hit Netflix series Orange is the New Black.
There’s still no word yet on what exactly director Colin Trevorrow has in store for the film, although we know that the action will take place on Isla Nublar, the setting of the first film, and will feature Pratt as “a dino wrangler with a cowboy attitude,” the return of B.D. Wong as dino-creator Dr. Henry Wu, and that D’Onofrio will play the film’s human villain. Filming on the sequel is expected to get underway soon in Hawaii.
Jurassic World will be in theaters everywhere on June 12, 2015.
