With Marvel and director Edgar Wright keeping the actual Ant-Man character details, even so far as some supporting character names under lock and key, they continue to add cast members. The latest is Matt Gerald (G.I.Joe: Retaliation, Avatar), who reportedly will play one of the movies bad guys.

If he’s still not ringing any bells for you, you might remember him from Marvel’s latest one shot included in the Thor: The Dark World DVD, All Hail the King with Sir Ben Kingsley.

Dexter fans will remember him as Ray Speltzer, the guy who liked to wear horns while murdering women in season seven of Dexter.

Now, what role could he be? His head does scream Egghead, but his body build leans more towards Whirlwind or Radiation Man. I’d count out Radiation Man simply because the character is Asian in origin and Marvel wouldn’t miss out on an easy casting opportunity to gather filming and screening rights in China, much like they did with Wang Xuequi (Yellow Earth, The Big Parade) in Iron Man 3.

That leaves Whirlwind as the best bet for Gerald.

What do you think? Is there another Ant-Man villain that makes more sense?

This movie, that many scoffed at a couple of years ago, is shaping up to be a fun ride. Ant-Man hits theater screens July 17th, 2015 starring Michael Douglas, Paul Rudd, Evangaline Lilly, Michael Pena, Patrick Wilson, and Corey Stoll.
