With season four of Game of Thrones just starting, fans are eagerly waiting to see what happens next (or, perhaps more appropriately, who dies next). But George R.R. Martin’s Song of Fire and Ice is a long-ass series. So, naturally we’re going to need more than four seasons. Well, fear not! For the folks at HBO have officially renewed the show for two more seasons.
As if there were any doubts in anyone’s mind, Game of Thrones shall be continuing into the next few years. Considering the popularity of the show, real news would have been if the show had not gotten another season. But I don’t see HBO running out on their cash cow just yet. In fact, I think it more likely they’ll try to drag this thing on for as long as humanly possible.
So… hey HBO? Why don’t you just renew it up to ten seasons and get it over with? Unless you’re worried about Martin dying and not finishing the books. That’s a valid concern, so I guess I can forgive them there.
