Fans were a bit confused when Stan Lee said he didn’t have a cameo in James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy a couple of months back. After all, he’s had a cameo in just about every Marvel movie, even showing up on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. earlier this season. Now Stan is singing another tune about his latest cameo.
Over the weekend at C2E2 Stan was asked about his cameo streak and why it was ending with Guardians of the Galaxy, Stan then set the record straight:
I did, already, I can’t tell you what it is, but I can tell you I do not understand what it was or why I did it. It has me with a girl — a very pretty girl — that’s all I can tell you.
Well, we can all breathe a sigh of relief, the cameo streak continues! Now we can wonder who that pretty girl who Stan talks about was. There are quite a few pretty ladies in the Guardians of the Galaxy cast with Zoe Saldana‘s Gamora, Karen Gillan‘s Nebula, Ophelia Lovibond to choose from, and don’t forget Glen Close, she’s quite the looker.
Most likely Lee’s cameo was shot during the additional shooting that Gunn conducted last month, the one that Nathan Fillion teased about his own appearance. The best cameo Stan Lee could do would be with Benicio Del Toro’s character, the Collector. Stan would fit right into that Galactic Menagerie as “Stan The Man” himself.
That would mean that Lovibond’s character Carina, the Collector’s daughter was the pretty lady in question. She recently talked about her role and the movie:
What do you think, where could Stan fit into this movie?
