ABC has announced the renewal of Marvel‘s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a second season and the Captain America: The First Avenger One Shot spinoff Agent Carter to series. That’s right, Hayley Atwell is back as the tough as nails Agent Carter. What stories will Agent Carter tell?Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did have its growing pains, but those that stuck it out have been richly rewarded for their patience and loyalty with some terrific television as the first season wrapped up. Next weeks finale should be off the chain. Our small band of agents go up against Hydra, Evil turncoat Ward and Garret, Deathlok, and don’t forget that the boss man himself, Nick Fury is scheduled to make an appearance.
One side not about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the fantastic posters that the production started putting out for each episode. They are a treat for fans and I’m thinking of getting and framing a few for my comic book room.
There are some fun hints about each episode in those posters if the viewer is sharp enough to notice.
By now your probably wondering, “What about Agent Carter?” For those of you that haven’t seen the One Shot short that was included in the Iron Man 3 DVD, we found a copy on-line for you below. The short’s synopsis:
It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Steve Rogers.
The short was great fun and I’m hoping they bring that same flavor to the small screen.
What do you think, is there room for another Marvel show on ABC? Perhaps even an entire night of Marvel programming?
