Matthew Vaughn is quickly becoming the go-to guy when it comes to adapting comic book properties into a cinema format. He’s already put together the first Kick-Ass movie and the return to the X-Men universe, X-Men: First Class, and now it looks as if he’s going on to direct yet another comic-turned-movie. This time around it’s another Mark Millar project – The Secret Service. Check out some pics of the new film, the trailer and a video of writer Mark Millar talking about Kingsman: The Secret Service below.
First and foremost, here’s a nice picture of one of the stars of the flick, Colin Firth, all dressed up as a spy and ready to go:
And then there’s this poster for the film:
And here’s the trailer, so you can see what the film looks like when it has moving pictures:
Finally, a brief word with Mark Millar:
James Bond training the next generation of super-spy, eh? I’ll bite. The trailer looks a bit goofy, but between Vaughn’s direction and Millar’s writing, I’m pretty confident that the end product is going to be more than just a silly romp through the super-spy world.
Apparently, Colin Firth is of a similar mind-set. While talking to EW, he had this to say about his time working with Vaughn on Kingsman:
“I was afraid it was ridiculous. I think what’s brilliant about Matthew is that he takes people’s expectations and likes to mess with them… I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed myself so much in my life. I realized that I’d made assumptions about myself that meant I had probably been neglecting something that I might have enjoyed for years if I’d got to it earlier.”
Sold on it yet? If so, check out Kingsman: The Secret Service when it hits the theaters on October 24th.
