Ever since Edgar Wright dropped out of directing Disney’s Ant-Man flick, things have been complete chaos for the movie. Directors have been rumored, directors have been confirmed only to back out again and nobody seems to know what the hell is going on. As part of our seemingly hourly installment of “Who will direct Ant-Man”, we here at Nerd Bastards bring you yet one more attempt to figure out which person will be sitting his ass down in the director’s chair. Read on to see who the two new rumored names are.
First up is Nicholas Stoller. He’s the guy that just finished up that Neighbors movie. Apparently, people thought it was pretty good. Whether his skills are adequate to tackle a Marvel flick and make it into something other than mindless drivel, however, is another story entirely.
The second new guy is Michael Dowse. Nothing he’s done has really gained that much attention, but if you ever saw a hockey flick by the name of Goon, that was him. He’s also just finishing up on the Daniel Radcliffe-starring comedy romance film, What If.
And there’s still Rawson Thurber (Dodgeball) there to round out the list, so don’t count him out of the race quite yet. As for who actually picks up the coveted (feared?) job, however, only time will tell.
What do the Nerd Readers think? Any of these folks sound like they can measure up to Edgar Wright? Or were the execs at Disney complete idiots for insisting that Wright make their movie instead of his own?
Check out Ant-Man when it hits theaters (maybe) on July 17th of 2015.
