Usually, we have to wait until a movie has gone into production before we start getting teasers and spoilers thrown our way. At the very least, the studios are supposed to wait until the original movie is done running in the theaters before they start promoting the next in line, right? That’s not the case with the X-Men franchise, as Bryan Singer felt the urge to throw a teaser for 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse our way in the form of a picture of the first page of the script. Scroll on to check it (and what it reveals) out:
Warning! Mild spoilers! Purists turn back now!
As I’m sure you noticed, there’s a nice, bold bit of print at the bottom right of that pic that says “THE FOUR HORSEMEN”. With Apocalypse being the main focus of the next X-Men movie, one might expect that motley crew to show up, but with the way they adapt comic books into movies these days, you never know. Fanboys should be happy, however, to know that one of the most famous quartets of X-Men baddies will be making their way to the big screen.
In the original story, one of the Horsemen (Death) was a revamped version of Angel. After the original X-Man bit the dust, Apocalypse showed up to revive him and turn him into something a bit nastier. Angel’s wings had been clipped, so-to-speak, so he happily accepted his enemy’s deal. The real question behind the appearance of the Four Horsemen (at least for us diehard X-fans) is who will be taking on the roles of Pestilence, Famine, War and Death and will Angel be among them? Or will they be using one of the other team rosters?
What say the Nerd Readers? What line-up of the Four Horsemen would you like to see?
