Maybe you guys remember a small venture about Netflix TV shows planned by a little company named Marble Entertainment? What’s that? Oh, it’s Marvel…Marvel Entertainment. They make funny books. Well, they seem like nice kids so I wish them the best. Marvel is owned by some fella named Disney and according to one of his boys, Daredevil is about a character nobody wants to put in movies, but everybody’s all hopped up on tying other films together with projects on the small screen – like this Daredevil and Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Principal shooting this time was set for New York City and we’ve got some photos and video of how that’s coming along. There’s a little boy in the video who screams something like “I can’t see!” Well, he didn’t click over to the next page…
Here’s a scene that’s well-known to comic fans. We have a young Matt Murdock in a great deal of distress after being exposed to toxic waste robbing him of his eyesight and heightening his other senses. It’s most likely all set on the streets of Hell’s Kitchen, which sounds ominous, but is really quite a nice place to grab some dinner and a drink.
According to one of the Tweet pics below, they shot this in Harlem. New York is funny like that, as so many parts of that town are visually interchangeable.
Daredevil has always had its highs and lows in terms of popularity, but the product really hit the skids when Ben Affleck’s movie failed at the box office. Later, when Disney-Marvel got the Daredevil rights back and announced this new venture, the cross potential usability of the series breathed new life into the character’s future. Daredevil will be the first of the Netflix shows to air, followed by planned projects Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. For awhile there, it was all a question of will they or won’t they take place in the already established Marvel Cinematic Universe. I think it’s ridiculous to think they won’t, because Marvel’s on a clear path here about what they want to do, and that’s monopolize the live action comic book universe on every medium.
The first season of Daredevil will have 13 episodes in 2015 starring Charlie Cox, Rosario Dawson, Elden Henson, and Vincent D’Onofrio.
