Yesterday, we got a wonderful new Gotham trailer and today the marketing powers that be over at FOX have followed that up with two new Gotham videos that spotlight the series villains and soon to be super villains. I’m sure there’s more videos and clips to come before the September 22nd premiere.

I have to say that I was a little disappointed that the music in these two clips was the usual Hollywood background music when compared to yesterdays trailer that had  Aloe Blacc’s Ticking Bomb. Then while I tried to rationalize that these were really only promotional clips and I shouldn’t judge them so harshly I came to the conclusion that I should judge the in that light.

If you’re going to go big Gotham, go fraking big. Bring us everything, the sights, the sounds, and the music Gotham deserves. OK, enough of my musical rant, let’s look at some videos.

Hmm, interesting. It’s not a lot of stuff we didn’t already know, but it did help add some flavor to the series villains. What some might have missed is this little nugget that might change the playing field.

It must be my day to post spoiler filled posts. This next bit might be considered by many as a spoiler so here’s your chance to click away from it. Last chance. Proceed at your own spoiler risk.

It was only a quick flash, but Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Taylor) is holding a newspaper that declares that Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Bullock (Donal Logue) found and killed the person who shot Bruce Wayne’s parents. Now we have to ask ourselves a couple of questions:

How they discovered the killer, and who was that suspect?

Did they get the right person?

Since this looks like it was taken from the Pilot episode, I lean toward the pair of detectives being fed a fall guy or gal. Heck, I wouldn’t put it past Bullock to be involved in a coverup about who really killed Bruce Wayne’s parents. Gordon is likely to have his suspicions, but not any firm proof yet.

Someone had to take the fall for the crime and you can bet that City Hall and the criminal element of Gotham would want a quick resolution to the case. So someone has to go down for that crime committed by another. It’s just a little too convenient to have all those plot strings tied up so quickly.

That’s my theory, what do you think? Am I on the right track?
