Lots of guests try to enjoy the SDCC dealers room floor, many quickly learn that they’d better go undercover to avoid spawning swarming crowds of fans. This time around Jack Black talks about his time on the SDCC14 floor as a Stormtrooper.
Now we all really know that he wasn’t really trying to hide here. He lifts that helmet up more than Dark Helmet on a coffee break. Every time he stopped at a table to peruse some new nerdy thing. Check out the video and find out what he bought during his time on the floor. He’s really just a geek at heart, just like the rest of us.
Here’s some of the pictures taken of Black on the floor:
Of course Black isn’t the first to try to walk the floor unnoticed. Norman Reedus talked about trying the same thing saying:
It’s funny, because they know what you’re wearing. So if you just put on a mask, you’ll get caught right away. Steven Yeun and I decided to go walk the floor in San Diego, and he went and got us these square, cardboard box heads to wear. And we walked around with those for like a minute, but you can’t breathe in those things, you could barely see, and someone recognized us right off the bat. So we ducked around to one of those vendors and we just bought what they had. And he went as Spider-Man, I went as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. We walked around for a little while, and it was cool. When we came out of there, we went to the hotel and it was so hot that we were just dying in those masks. So finally we pulled them up for a second to just catch some air and we just got bombarded with people. So we got stuck in front of a hotel trying to get out of there. But it was a lot of fun.
OK, it would be worth the price of a ticket just to see Norman Reedus in a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man costume. We’re sure to see other celebrities try to walk the floor unknown in the next couple of days. As they get found out, we’ll bring the pictures to you here.
