Wow, the Marvel SDCC14 Hall H Panel might have started ten minutes late, but it’s certainly rolling along fast and furious with celebrities, clips, movie news, and all kinds of fun stuff. Here’s what we’ve found out so far about Ant-Man.

As the Ant-Man part of the panel begins:

Bringing out the director of Ant-Man, Peyton Reed, plus main stars Paul Rudd, Corey Stall, Evangeline Lilly (just announced) and Michael Douglas! Seems like we will be getting footage!

Paul Rudd’s makes a joke about it being his first time at Comic-Con, Lily called him a Comic-Con virgin. Rudd goes on to say how it is unbelievable and how honored he is to be a part of Marvel Universe.

Douglas is also new to Comic-Con. He makes a joke about having popped enough cherries himself. He says he’s always looked vicariously at Marvel Studios with envy because he’s always played realistic characters in his career. He’s looking forward to this new experience playing a comic based on Stan Lee writing Dr. Pym in 1962, a man who developed a serum that allowed people to reduce themselves to ant-sized, and to communicate with them. This movie is a story about one Ant-Man passing the mantle to his successor.

Lilly talks about Hope van Dyne, and ducking the press when it comes to who she would be playing. now she can be honest about it and confirm rumors about who she is playing. She’s says she can’t say much about Hope because she hasn’t read a script yet. She’s been busy working and she’s also a mother. She loves attending conventions, and all the audience support she’s received, during Lost and the Hobbit films.

*Marvel has put out an official announcement about the two cast character confirmations:

Evangeline Lilly and Corey Stoll have found their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the female lead and antagonist, respectively, in Marvel’s “Ant-Man,” in theaters July 17, 2015!

Lilly will play Hope Van Dyne, the daughter of Hank Pym, while Stoll will play Darren Cross, a.k.a. Yellowjacket, the antagonist of the film. The two join stars Paul Rudd (Scott Lang) and Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), along with director Peyton Reed, for the size-changing super hero’s first cinematic adventure.

Filming in Atlanta starts in two weeks on August 18th, so they have no footage to show, but Feige steps in and says there is some footage they can show. Here’s a description of the footage:

Ant-Man footage: We start w a black screen while Hank Pym and Scott Lang argue in voiceover. Hank obviously wants Scott to do something Scott is not comfortable doing. We see a laboratory and hear Hank teasing Scott that maybe his balls have already been shrunk. We then see Scott in full Ant-Man costume, miniturized, as he runs through an office and jumps onto a window sill. Henry says he’s sending transportation. Suddenly, a winged ant lands on the sill and Henry tells Scott to just tell the ant where he wants to go. Thanks to some technical difficulties, the communication doesnt work, so Scott jumps, just in time to land onto the fly as it buzzes off. Cut to title. The crowd goes wild.

Marvel’s own Agent M has been live tweeting the panel and here’s his Ant-Man tweets:

The footage shown should make its way to the Internet in the next day or so. It seems that most productions these days don’t hold on to it after the big premiere. There’s sure to be some press interviews with the cast members as well. We’ll find it all and bring it to you here.

***UPDATE***

Here’s a the full panel in video, sans exclusive movie footage (described above) which was released today.

Now we’ve got a new interview with the cast of Ant-Man done right after they left the Marvel Panel in Hall H.
