As I’m sure we’re all aware, 2015 is going to be a big year for new movies in various film franchises. Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Jurassic World all will be making appearances next year, among other movies, making it a good year to go to the movies. While some, like Mad Max, had a presence at the recent SDCC, others, like Jurassic World, are only just now wrapping up.
Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow took to Twitter to confirm that he’s finished principal shooting on the movie, which picks up right after the first Jurassic Park installment and follows the people running an actual dinosaur amusement park. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard play the leads in the new movie.
To coincide with Pratt’s current hit role as Star-Lord/Peter Quill in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, last week Trevorrow tweeted out a picture of Pratt in Jurassic World, simply saying, “See you next summer, Star-Lord.”

Earlier today, Trevorrow again took to Twitter to update fans about the movie. He tweeted out a simple picture of the clapperboard nestled in between some dino jaws, with the concise caption, “Wrap.”

Though it’ll likely be a good while until we see footage of the dinosaurs in action, it’s probably safe to say that Jurassic World will stand well against other recent “giant scaly monster” flicks, like Pacific Rim or Godzilla, when it opens next June. At least some of the giant lizards will be brought to life with a combination of practical and digital effects, which should be interesting. Also worth noting is that John Schwartzman, an Oscar-nominated cinematographer, shot the movie, so the visuals are in pretty good hands.
While production wrapped on Jurassic World, it’s star, who maybe predicted his role in the movie 4 years ago, has been doing press for Guardians of the Galaxy. Hilariously, Pratt seems to be an Eminem fan and actually knows all the words to “Forget About Dre”, as he shows off in the below video. Watch out for the f-bombs, but it’s way worth it just to watch Pratt show off his white boy rapping, much to the delight of the DJs for the radio show.
Looking forward to Jurassic World? Think they’ll let Pratt do a rap intro song for the movie after his recent display?
