the flash

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been adding DC heroes left and right. The two titular characters are being accompanied by everyone from Wonder Woman to Cyborg, though how much of a role any given character will play remains to be seen. Now, the mysterious casting of actor Scoot McNairy (12 Years a Slave, Argo) may have just been spoiled and, you guessed it, he’s yet another face from the Justice League roster. Scroll on for all the rumory goodness.

Check out the following picture and see what you think about it:

Those bright green legs are there so that the FX guys can do something fancy with them when the filming gets to post. The Internet rumormill is saying that this strange picture connects McNairy to none-other-than The Flash.

But… wait…

Isn’t Grant Gustin playing The Flash? Sure, he’s on television, but why on Earth would the DC brains choose to pick some other guy out of the crowd instead of just using Gustin, an actor that has proven he can draw in audiences with his quirky and charming performance?

Well, the powers-that-be did say they’d be keeping the two universes separate. Worst decision ever, in my humble opinion, but what can you do? I guess we wait around and see if the folks over at Superhero Report are correct in their assumption. The best thing they have going for them right now, other than this picture, is the fact that nearly every other Justice League member has already been cast – we have Ben Affleck as The Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and, most recently, Jason Momoa as Aquaman (or so the persistent rumors go). That leaves The Flash, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter as potential seventh additions.

Maybe those bright green legs are the Manhunter’s? Maybe he’s supposed to have some sort of crazy tentacles or some shit hanging off of his knees in that scene?

What say the Nerd Readers? You think is The Flash we’re looking at? Or is the rumormill jumping the gun again? And WTF with not using Grant Gustin?
