ABOVE: Groot is everywhere these days, but never has he made such a delicious appearance. Tattooed Bakers crafted this intricately detailed chocolate Groot cake with edible bark. This must have been an intensive process, as the outside of the cake is made from individual pieces of bark. In case you can’t tell, the writing on the cake stand is “#IAMGROOT.” [That’s Nerdalicious via Between the Pages]
While we’re on the subject of Groot: the very talented DeeArtist handcrafted this reversible Groot pendant using gemstones and wire. The back is just as beautiful as the front! If you aren’t aware of the work that goes into wire jewelry, let me explain a bit – essentially, this piece was probably made with no tools other than the artist’s hands, wire and jewelry pliers. It’s freehand work. I can’t imagine how long this took. Wow. [Geek Crafts]
Artist Claudia Ng dubs these Pokemon Bulbasaur planters “succulent monsters,” an adorable name for an equally adorable product. There are six colors available at $49 each. Scour your wallets and couch cushions for extra change so you can afford to catch them all. [Technabob]
In a galaxy far, far away, Darth Vader’s efforts to get his kids to go to sleep have failed. But hopefully, the tale of his attempts to use the Force on his little prince and princess will help your future Jedis get some shut eye. [ThinkGeek]
While you can buy many things at Ikea, you cannot purchase a doorway to Narnia. Damn it. [Twitter]
In case you ever wanted to watch every single death from all of Quentin Tarantino’s films, here you are, in all of their bloody gory. [The Verge]
When someone asks you if you want a behind the scenes look at a LEGO Ghostbusters movie, you say yes. The full movie is here.
Not to be outdone by a bunch of do-gooders, the 501st legion accepted J.J. Abrams’ ice bucket challenge. [Geeks Are Sexy]
