Every day, the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut. Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at

ABOVE: Talented makeup artists Laura Jenkinsen uses her mouth as a canvas for famous animated characters. Oh sure, this is clever and cute, but kissing (amongst other things) are just now that much more awkward.  [TheMarySue]

Artist Phil Postma of Minion Factory created these mock collectible figures for a series called Cereal Critters. The toys are real, back from the days when you could actually get toys in your cereal boxes. Then some dumb kids choked on a few, lawsuits were filed and it ruined it for the rest of us. The spiffy packaging, however, is all from the artistic mind of Phil Postma. Guardians of the Galaxy family cosplay. This is nerd parenting done right, right? [Dorkly]

Here’s a teaser for Doomed: The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s “The Fantastic Four”‘. A feature length documentary tracking the history of the troubled 1994 Concord-New Horizon’s/Constantin Films production, The Fantastic Four. I still argue that The Thing from this movie looks far better than what we got with the 2007 version.   [Marty Langford]

Even Honest Trailers thinks  Captain America The Winter Soldier was damn good. That won’t stop them from nitpicking  though.  My question is how in the world did Rogers get that flash drive in the vending machine in the first place? [Screen Junkies]

Nic Cages face takes over Halo. Even the Moon. Nothing is UNCAGED!  Finally someone who understands… there is no such thing as too much Cage. [Gunner]
