We’ve all seen the on set pictures of the new Batmobile for Zack Snyder‘s Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice that surfaced earlier this week. Snyder decided to tweet an official picture of that marvelous vehicle after those others leaked. Then quiet rumors started to buzz around the Internet that one of the Batmobile model cars had been stolen off the lot. Warner Brothers and Snyder haven’t confirmed or denied the theft rumor, but early this morning Snyder did tweet a fantastic photo that touches on the subject.
Here’s the tweet:

That’s great! Gotham’s finest shoving a Stormtrooper into the back of a Gotham GCPD car in the rain, because it’s always gloomy and rainy in Gotham. The police officer holding that blaster is a nice touch.
Now this photo can be looked at in a couple of different ways. Is this a directed response to the theft rumor or is this picture the first shot across the bow of director J.J.Abrams’ Star Wars VII? I will say that this was done very well and very quickly. I imagine though, that if Snyder wanted a set of Stormtrooper armor, he’d be able to get some pretty easily.
Which ever way this turns out, it remains a great picture. Not only will it build Internet interest, we can be sure that Abrams will have a response to continue this one-up-manship. Now we should speculate on what form Abrams’ response will take. Put your best thoughts in the comments section below!
