The latest Deadpool movie announcement must have reinvigorated the fans of Dredd who want another Dredd Movie. If the fans of one long-delayed and tossed about hero can help get their crazy Merc with a Mouth to the big screen, why not slip in a Dredd sequel as well? Last year’s Day of Dredd was a successful campaign to drive Dredd up the list for DVD sales, rentals, and streaming downloads in hopes of nudging those in Hollywood with the power to make a Dredd sequel happen. Dredd fans hope to top last year’s results on October 1st, what can you do to help?
This is a fan-created, fan-run, fan-made campaign and that’s who makes it so special – the fans. Let’s show Hollywood that we’ve not gone away and we’re not going to take no for an answer. We want more of our favourite movie!
So, next Wednesday we’re calling on everyone to shout about DREDD – buy it again on DVD or Blue-Ray, get it back up those charts or, even better, get it sold out! Watch it with friends, talk about it online, share it on your Facebook and Twitter accounts with the hashtag #DayofDredd, encourage your favourite news outlets to cover the big push, even wear your DREDD suit when you go shopping! It all helps keep DREDD in the public eye.
One big piece of the Dredd sequel puzzle, Dredd star Karl Urban is ready to put his Judge helmet back on for a sequel. What’s needed is more Internet buzz. Here’s what you should do.
First off, go sign the petition using this link, and go like the Make a Dredd Sequel Facebook page, then when October 1st rolls around either, go buy a DVD copy of Dredd for yourself or a friend, use a streaming service (Dredd is available for streaming on Amazon Prime and Netflix) to watch Dredd, Rent a copy of Dredd from Redbox or any of the other DVD rental boxes around you.
If Deadpool fans can do it, why not Dredd fans?
