While it wasn’t the first role that Jason Momoa played on television, his portrayal of Khal Drogo in HBO‘s Game of Thrones is truly the role that thrust him into the public conscience. Now the creative mind behind that character George R. R. Martin is ready to share his thoughts on Momoa’s latest casting success as Aquaman in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and his own stand alone movie Aquaman.
Momoa has really relaxed a bit since the big Warner Bros. announcement. Now that he can talk freely about the role, or at least as freely as his non-disclosure agreement with Warner Bros. will allow we should expect to see more people speaking out about his casting. Perhaps even some that have talked with Momoa about the role.
This time it’s George R.R. Martin, a big comic book fan, and obviously a fan of Jason Momoa as well. He recently talked with MTV who posted this short video:
It’s pretty extraordinary. Jason Momoa is fantastic. He was wonderful as Khal Drogo. I wish we could’ve kept him for another ten seasons.
While Martin joked about Momoa’s repeated requests for a Khal Drogo prequel Martin said:
I guess I won’t be able to do that now, because he’s tied up being Aquaman!
What do you think of the casting? I’m ready to give Momoa a shot at the King of the Seas.
