I feel bad for anyone who isn’t a die hard fan of HBO’s ‘Game Of Thrones.’ The last two seasons have been so beautifully scripted, so wonderfully acted, that it’s a real pain having to wait a year for the show’s return. That’s the one thing I’d change about the series – the mammoth waits for new seasons. But it’s proven itself worth the wait lately, what with all its Emmy Awards from Qarth to the Moon Door. It’s an incredible series that’s hitting all the right notes, but don’t take my word for it – ask the cast how awesome their show is. I’m sure with the huge pay upgrades they just received, they’ll have nothing but nice things to say about their jobs.

Look at them up there, laughing it up. They work on a sexy show filled with murder and intrigue; magic and dragons. Talk about a dream job. How can you make it even dreamier? Get more money, that’s how! I’m sure these murderous perverts were already making sweet cheddar, but the gold pile just got a lot bigger. And God bless them, they deserve to play epic sword guitar while waiting in lot to deposit fat checks!

HBO has renegotiated the stars’ contracts for seasons 5, 6 and a potential 7th. They’re all getting hefty paydays, depending on their tier. The top tiered actors get the most money, with the lower tiers obviously getting less. According to THR, it boils down like this:

“With one of the largest and most diverse ensemble casts on TV, Thrones employs a tiered system to compensate its stars, according to sources. The ‘A’ tier — which includes actors Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) — is paid at the highest level. The ‘A’ tier actors are said to have renegotiated their deals in tandem.

The so-called ‘B’ tier — which is said to include co-stars Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and others — is paid on a lower scale but is said to be scoring raises as well in exchange for season 7 options. A lower tier of regular actors will receive much smaller pay increases, according to sources.”

Whatever, Nat Dormer will always be top tier to me. She’s so hot, I can’t stand it. But I’m halfway surprised to see Maisie Williams playing for the B-team. She’s probably my favorite character, with the most interesting storyline going right now. I imagine the “lower tier” of regular actors include Carice van Houten (Melisandre). The woman refuses to stay clothed. I know she’s super cool with being naked all the time, and doesn’t play the most important of characters, but there should be extra dough in all that nudity. But of course, I have no idea what I’m talking about.

Signing on for that “potential” 7th season means nothing because creator George R.R. Martin kills off characters frequently. There’s zero job security, with the least likely to die being Tyrion and his siblings. Again, I don’t know what I’m talking about because Martin is a crazy person and there’s no telling what he’ll do. Enjoy that cash while it’s there, actors!
