Gotham‘s Ben McKenzie, who plays Detective James Gordon, recently sat down with The Daily Beast and teased fans with the possible upcoming appearance of The Flying Graysons. That’s right, Haly’s Circus is coming to town and we might be seeing baby Dick Grayson, or at least John and Mary Grayson, his death-defying aerialist mother and father.

The Flying Grayson’s came up when McKenzie said:

The Grayson’s may appear this season. I’m not 100 percent sure yet, but I think so.

Now we’re not going to get the death scene pictured above of course, but I can imagine Wayne Enterprises bringing the circus to town and young Bruce Wayne reluctantly attending with Alfred.

When asked about the difference in how Marvel and DC‘s strategies in mixing TV and Movies differ, McKenzie had this to say:

It’s a different strategy that DC has versus Marvel. Marvel’s all about integration, and I think DC is separating their TV landscape from their film landscape. I’m certainly not against it, but since we’re an origin story, I don’t know how it could work for us.

McKenzie also dropped a pretty big spoiler while talking about Morena Baccarin‘s casting as Dr. Lesie Thomkins:

They just hired Morena Baccarin on Gotham to play my love interest, Dr. Leslie Thompkins, and she said, ‘Hey, I did an episode of The O.C.!’ and I was like, ‘What!?’

That’s right, your favorite Firefly Companion is hooking up with one of Gotham’s finest. She also becomes one of Bruce’s most trusted friends, eventually knowing his secret identity as Batman and acting as a sounding board for Bruce’s conscience when Batman’s actions some times go to far.

Now I’ll be the first to say that Gotham is stacking the Batman deck quite a bit when it comes to introducing villains to Gotham every week. Perhaps too many really, although it is a lot of fun at the same time. Bringing the Flying Graysons in would be a nice touch, and something long time fans should appreciate.
