One of the interesting and fun things I love about fandoms is the periods between seasons and episodes when fans gather to discuss the series details, spin and speculate about why things happened, and what might possibly happen next. George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones has loads of fan interaction from both the book readers and the HBO television series watchers, often those fans being one and the same. Now we’d like to present you with one fan’s theory, feel free to insert “crazy” or the adjective of your choice in there, about everyone’s favorite wine drinking and whoring Lannister, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage). Prepare to have your Game of Thrones mind blown!

Alt Shift X throws this theory out there for fans to consider, and he’s quite clear that there are holes to poke in this one. It certainly doesn’t tie up as nicely as the Jon Snow theory,  but it is entertaining as hell to consider. Watch the video and then let’s discuss it.

I can see that many fans will have issue with how this theory affects the way we might look at the Tyrion/Tywin relationship of love/hate that has been such an anchor in both the characters… characterizations. If you can adapt to that subtle change then this theory might just be for you. I happen to think there might be something to this theory. Tyrion just being an adviser to Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons isn’t really fulfilling for his character in my opinion. Imagine Daenerys and Tyrion’s surprise when one of the dragons takes a liking to him…

A lot of the details come from Martin’s latest book pictured above. The whole series of Ice & Fire is secrets layered upon secrets. I was going to pass on the book above, but after listening to some of the details coming out of it, I think I’m going to have to pick up a copy. It sounds like there might be a lot of clues littered among the wreckage of the past that will unlock the secrets of the series.
