Looks like Frank Grillo is going to return to the Marvel Universe as Brock Rumlow, a.k.a. Crossbones (…hail hydra folk) in Captain America: Civil War. Grillo recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly and confirmed that Marvel Studios have summoned him back to cause more mayhem, taking extreme measures in making sure his character “fits like a glove,”:
“[Winter Soldier] was only a taste of what’s to come with the next film, and I couldn’t be more humbled and excited. They just kind of called and said, ‘What kind of shape are you in? We’re going to need a body scan.’ They scan your body so that whatever you wear fits you like a glove…. We all know what Crossbones represents in his world, so when they called me and said we gotta do the body scan, I was like ‘Okay!’”
We gotta get ourselves one of those body scans for next year’s Halloween, …but first things first: getting rid of the beer belly and getting back in shape, a year shall do it – give or take…
The cast is looking pretty epic as stands at the moment with Grillo joining Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark, with Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther (before his solo film in November 2017), and Daniel Bruhl as Baron Zemo??? (…nobody is quite sure who he’s playing yet, but there is plenty of internet babble!), and also talks of Jeremy Renner making an appearance as Hawkeye.
We are happy that Grillo is making a return as Crossbones as he done a cracking job in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as Rumlow and has been upping the ante in Hollywood with various roles including his lead turn in The Purge: Anarchy (although the movie itself was pretty poor).
American Soldier’s Anthony and Joe Russo are back on board to direct with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely penning the script. The film is scheduled for a release date on May 6, 2016.
