The recently released teaser for J.J. Abrams‘ Star Wars: The Force Awakens is breaking Internet records for views, passing Joss Whedon‘s Avengers: The Age Of Ultron as the hottest teaser/trailer out there, but when can fans expect to see the first full length trailer?
We shouldn’t be complaining, Abrams has actually been very informative when you look back at what he has teased over the last few months. He certainly hasn’t given away the cow, but we’ve all had a sip of the milk with looks at the Millennium Falcon, some aliens, and other interesting tid-bits of Star Wars magic. Word is that we’ll have the first full length trailer debut when Disney‘s other big 2015 movie, Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters. It makes a lot of sense, there’s a built-in fan base that will get excited. I imagine we’ll also see it pop up again when George Clooney‘s Tomorrowland hits a few weeks later. It might even contain NEW FOOTAGE just a few weeks after the first full length trailer. That will put butts in seats.
This latest teaser, while only having 39 seconds of actual footage and 15 words spoken, is filled with things that fans will debate and argue about until the next teaser hits the Internet. We might not have to wait that long to see some new Star Wars images and clips. Abrams will undoubtedly tease us with more hand written cue cards and stills. Take a look at how Itunes describes it, “First Teaser.”
Does that mean we’ll get a couple more teasers before the full trailer? The trend in Hollywood lately is to do a few teasers and then hit everyone with a full trailer. So don’t be too worried that you won’t see anything new for Star Wars: The Force Awakens until the full trailer hits. There’s sure to be more teasers, leaked information, and Abrams notes to keep our Star Wars: The Force Awakens whistle wet.
