While it is a contractual certainty that Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and Dave Bautista will be back for another round in James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Lee Pace, who played the film’s lead villain Ronan the Accuser, wants to come back too. Before you start scratching your head, let’s think about it for a minute.

Those of you that have seen the movie, and I could probably count the people that haven’t on my right hand, know that Ronan didn’t fare well towards the end of the movie.

In fact, he (*Insert Spoiler Warning for the three people I counted on my right hand that haven’t see the movie yet.) died pretty dramatically when Star Lord and gang held hands and sang Kum-Ba-Ya with an Infinity Stone.

Ronan was as dead as any Marvel comics character. Well that explains it, because you can also name all the Marvel characters that have died and stayed dead on one hand just as easily as you can count the number of people reading this site that haven’t seen GOTG yet.

In a recent interview Pace said:

I love the character. I’d love to play him again! Who knows!?

I loved that film. I was so proud to be a part of that whole fun moment. I found the character very, very interesting, exceptionally, and in playing him — this kind of charismatic space terrorist. The idea is fascinating. I had to kind of crack the way the character thought. For me, I think he’s doing what’s right for his people. He’s going to right a wrong. He’s annihilating the weak in favor of the strong. That’s a different set of values, and he’s fighting for them.

Does Pace really feel this strongly about reprising his Ronan role? Well NerdBastards has obtained a direct feed to Lee Pace’s home computer and this is what we saw when we turned on his web camera.

It appears that Pace has a green screen room at his house and he may have taken a few costume items off the Guardians of the Galaxy set when shooting completed. I guess he just wants to be ready when James Gunn calls…

I’d have to say the odds of Ronan showing up again this soon are slim to none. Now if we’re looking forward to the third Avengers movie Avengers: Infinity War Part One, I’d say the chances get much better. With Thanos fully in the picture who knows what kind of deal he might work out with the love of his life Death to bring back Ronan.

GOTG 2 hits theater screen May 5th 2017.
