suicide-squad-cast-rumors

Is it just me or is the casting of Suicide Squad starting to look like a revolving door of speculation on top of whispered rumors? Every time I turn around there’s a new story out about this actor or that actress. If three or more aren’t reading for the same unspecified role then two others are rumored to be leaving the cast. It’s a madhouse I tell you, a madhouse! So click on through to the Suicide Squad Casting Wing of Arkham Asylum and find out what all the crazies are yelling about.

This time around we’ve got rumors of Joel Edgerton (Warrior) and Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, Fury) in consideration for the Rick Flagg role, which Tom Hardy ditched apparently due to the role taking a backseat to the increased on-screen time of Will Smith as Deadshot and whoever ends up playing Deathstroke, After Hardy left Jake Gyllenhaal supposedly passed on taking his place.

That’s not all though, Joe Magliano (Magic Mike, Trueblood) is said to be up for the Deathstroke role. Wait.. there was a Deathstroke role? How many damn villains turned reluctant heroes are we going to have in this movie? Is this going to be the reverse Spider-Man III?

Thought we were done talking about rumored casting? Well you’d be WRONG!!! Latino Review is throwing out another name into the overflowing hat that is Suicide Squad casting, the name of Gary Sinise.

Word around the Internet today is that Sinise might be up for the General Eiling role. That just means that another character that has been on one of DC’s television shows is being recast for the big screen. This time Clancy Brown (Highlander) who appeared as Eiling in The Flash is getting the big screen snub.

Sinise is going to be terrific in which ever role he ends up in, don’t get me wrong, I just wonder if there’s going to be enough screen time for all these actors and actresses to stand out without detracting from each others performances.

What do you think? One of the best things about the Suicide Squad comic book series is the ever-changing lineup. Will the big name stars like that aspect of Suicide Squad franchise?

Suicide Squad will land in theaters Aug. 5, 2016.
