LEGO has had a recent bunch of goings on lately with the release of the LEGO Jurassic World trailer and the announcement of the new Doctor Who LEGO set submitted by Andrew Clark on LEGO Ideas. LEGO Ideas is the creative site where fans can submit ideas for new LEGO sets.

Let’s get started with the LEGO Jurassic World trailer. TT Games Managing Director Tom Stone says:

As ardent fans of Universal’s Jurassic Park films, we are thrilled with the opportunity to finally bring LEGO dinosaurs to life for the first time in LEGO Jurassic World. Imagine playing as the ominous LEGO T. rex, roaming the grounds of Isla Nublar, smashing LEGO bricks and battling with other dinosaurs – this game is bound to bring out the kid in all of us.

LEGO Jurassic World follows the story lines of Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III, and finishes off with Jurassic World. That’s right, you get to play in all four Jurassic movies! The game hits store shelves in June and features the ability to collect amber, which holds the Dino DNA players need to unlock and play new LEGO dinosaurs.

If that wasn’t enough, word has also hit the Internet that LEGO will be producing and releasing an official Doctor Who LEGO set later this year. The concept come from LEGO Ideas, the site where fans can submit LEGO sets for consideration.

Andrew Clark submitted the Doctor Who set and quickly received the 10k votes needed for consideration, which moved his idea into the review phase. Just the other day the review panel’s decision was announced and Clark’s set was officially approved for production! There were some licensing agreements hammered out between the LEGO Group and BBC Worldwide, but those went well and with the contract ink dry, production will begin soon with the set expected on store shelves later this year.

BBC Worldwide’s Marcus Arthur said:

Both Doctor Who and LEGO enjoy a particularly close relationship with their fans and I can’t wait to see what LEGO produce.

LEGO’s UK Spokesperson Emma Owen said:

We’re extremely excited to announce that a Doctor Who and a WALL-E set will be released as our next LEGO Ideas fan based sets, congratulations to the designers Andrew Clark and Angus MacLane! After receiving over 10,000 votes from the online community and having gone through rigorous toy testing from our expert panel, these awesome sets are on track to be on shelves later this year. The final set designs, pricing and availability are being worked out as we speak, so watch this space for the final details!
