While we’ve still got a few weeks to go until the March 3rd return of Marvel‘s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to ABC on Tuesday nights, fans of the Mockingbird have new reason to celebrate. Adrianne Palicki, who plays Bobbi Morse aka the Mockingbird, has been bumped up from guest star to series regular. What does this mean for her character?
Well it means we’ll be seeing a lot more of Mockingbird during the second half of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s season two and perhaps a couple of appearances in other Marvel projects. Those could include movie cameos and maybe an appearance in one of the Marvel/Netflix series, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, or Jessica Jones. When Captain America: Civil War comes to the big screen I’d be very surprised if some, if not all, of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cast didn’t make at least a cameo of some kind. What’s left of S.H.I.E.L.D. should be involved by that point in finding and identifying those with super powers.
When one considers the romance, eventual marriage and divorce of Mockingbird and Hawkeye in the comics, Captain America: Civil War might be a good place for the two to meet and get involved. What do you think? Will we start to see more Superheros hooking up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
While we’re here let’s look at the return episode Epidemic synopsis:
After discovering an alien city with ties to his resurrection, Coulson and his team destroyed it before the forces of Hydra could claim its secrets, eliminating the villainous Whitehall (Reed Diamond) in the process. But new threats to the world have arisen, including Skye’s father, Cal (Kyle McLachlan), who now seeks retribution against Coulson for stealing his revenge against Whitehall; a disturbing alliance between former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Ward (Brett Dalton) and Agent 33; the enigmatic Raina (Ruth Negga), who struggles with her transformation into something inhuman by the alien Obelisk and seeks vengeance; and Skye (Chloe Bennet), who developed mysterious new powers from the Obelisk but whose lack of experience with her new abilities may threaten the safety of those she loves.
Meanwhile, Bobbi (Palicki) and Mack (Henry Simmons) begin the next phase of a plan which seems to have grave repercussions for Coulson and his team, who are unaware that there’s another mysterious force moving against them. And as Hunter (Nick Blood) is forced to make the biggest choice of his life, Coulson will find his mission threatened by this shocking endgame.
Coulson’s team must deal with the consequences of their war with Hydra as shocking revelations threaten to tear them apart, and Hydra makes a dangerous move that may involve a traitor in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s midst.
Sounds like things are heating up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as the Inhuman story line ramps up. What are you looking forward to finding out about in the series return episode?
