If you’re a child of the late eighties haven’t been watching The Goldbergs then you are missing out on some fantastic memories of times gone by, back before the Internet changed everything. This week, The Goldbergs is doing a Ferris Buehller’s Day Off episode and they’ve brought in the big gun to sit like a ripe cherry on top, Charlie Sheen. That’s right, Sheen is going to reprise his iconic role as “Boy in the police station.”
I’ve been enjoying The Goldbergs for a while now, but it was the salute to the death of Optimus Prime that really sold me on the series. Here’s a clip from that episode.
Here’s the actual Optimus Prime Funeral footage that show creator
Adam Goldberg shot when he was a kid:
This week they take on Ferris Buehller’s Day Off. Barry, the older brother decides he’s got to stop and smell the roses. Charlie Sheen makes an appearance when Barry’s older sister tries to stop him.
Now who knows, will Sheen’s Boy in the police station know Barry, or just deliver that classic line:
There’s someone you should talk to…
Now it was a shame that Two and a Half Men and Charlie Sheen couldn’t bring themselves together for the finale of the show in which Sheen’s character Charlie Harper was the main subject . A body double made the only on-screen appearance at the end and it just wasn’t that satisfying for viewers.
It’ll be nice to see Sheen back in the leather jacket. I just hope he can pull off a convening portrayal of someone who gets in trouble because of drugs…
