Whether she’s wearing pants, metal bra, leather jacket, gold tiara, or a star spangled bikini, Wonder Woman is the diva of costume changes. In a new cover that debuted online earlier today, the creative team of Meredith & David Finch are updating the warrior of themyscira’s look once a again. Premiering in the June issues Wonder Woman #41, WW is now decked out in a full body suit, and has ditched the lasso and sword for retractable blades on her wrists.
Here’s the solicit info for the upcoming issue:

A daring new direction begins with the arrival of a brand-new villain! But while he may be new to us, he’s not new to the world he seeks to tame. And speaking of villains, Donna Troy’s quest to destroy Wonder Woman ratchets up another gear (if that’s even possible!), while the games of the Gods bring dark portents to the ultimate Amazon!
On the plus side, Wonder Woman is finally wearing more than a glorified bathing suit. No cleavage and no thick Amazonian thighs showing. It marks a great step towards diminishing hyper sexual and unnecessary costume designs that have plagued the characters appeal to female audiences.
I, for one, love the idea of Wonder Woman wearing an outfit not based solely around sex appeal, but the Assassin’s Creed style wrist blades and over sized floating shoulder pads take away from what would have been a triumphant redesign.
