The first full length Futurama movie based on the episode Anthology of Interest II from 2002 has its first trailer online!
Wait… who’s that? Sorry, I gotta take this call, I’ll only be a moment. What? I’m trying to do a post here man. Are you sure? You’re just messing with me aren’t you? Pinky swear? OK, I believe you.
I’m being told this isn’t a Futurama movie by Matt Groening, but an Adam Sandler movie called PIXELS. That’s what I get for not paying attention to the opening. I’m sure this was also an episode of The Simpsons, but I was too lazy to look it up. So there’s a new trailer out for Pixels starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Peter Dinklage, and Josh Gad. Wait… where’s David Spade and Chris Rock? I thought this was an Adam Sandler movie…
The synopsis from Sony:
When intergalactic aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. President Will Cooper (Kevin James) has to call on his childhood best friend, ’80s video game champion Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), now a home theater installer, to lead a team of old-school arcaders (Peter Dinklage and Josh Gad) to defeat the aliens and save the planet. Joining them is Lt. Col. Violet Van Patten (Michelle Monaghan), a specialist supplying the arcaders with unique weapons to fight the aliens.
OK, all kidding aside let’s take a look at director Chris Columbus’ new trailer for PIXELS.
Well, that wasn’t bad exactly, there were a few funny things in there and Adam Sandler wasn’t near any of them. In fact we really didn’t see much of the four guys that are supposed to be saving the planet. The only saving grace of this trailer is the Professor Iwatani scene with Pac-Man. Even that is fairly predictable.
Did you see something in this trailer that I missed that might make me feel a little better about this movie?
Help me out here. I want to like it…
