Didn’t think the day could get any better after the new Star Wars trailer… Boy were you wrong.
You may be familiar with Kung Fury, an upcoming crowd-funded martial arts comedy that’s the brain child of director David Sandberg. The film, featuring an absolutely balls-to-the-wall trailer released last year, is currently aiming for a may release.
Today, they released the music video. With David Hasslehoff. Yes. It’s that amazing.
Hasselhoff, icons of eighties action and mullets, raise Kung Fury‘s old school celebration up by several octaves in the laser-beam fueled music video to “True Survivor”, an over the top theme song in the vein of “Eye of the Tiger”. With Tron-level graphics, fog machines, mullets, a hot looking car, and dinosaurs, it fits in perfectly with Kung Fury’s world.
Just shed a singular manly tear. It doesn’t get more 80s than the Hoff with a mullet leaning against a white Lamborghini.
Kung Fury is a visually spectacular action comedy. As the story goes, main character Kung Fury plans to go back in time (from the 1980s) to World War II in order to kill Adolf Hitler, known here as Kung Fuhrer and avenge his friends death at the hands of the Nazi leader. An error in the time machine sends him further back to the viking age. With the help of a female Viking and Norse God Thor, Kung Fury continues his time travels in order to put an end to the Third Reich once and for all.
