No doubt trying to drum up some hype for the latest TMNT installation after the mixed feelings about the first film (and by mixed feelings, I mean primarily bad feelings), producer Michael Bay released three images from the set of the upcoming movie on his website. The images depict two vehicles that will be used in the film; a garbage truck that also functions as a party wagon for the Ninja Brothers, and a Polaris Slingshot.
Megan Fox, William Fichtner and Will Arnett are all set to reprise their respective roles of April O’Neil, Eric Sacks, and Vernon Fernwick. New faces will include Stephen Amell as the ever-lovable Casey Jones and Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman. Other notable names attached to the first film are Johnny Knoxville, Tony Shalhoub, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, and Danny Woodburn.
TMNT 2 will be released June 3, 2016, and is set to be directed by David Green (Earth to Echo) this time around. As hard as it may be, viewers should try to remain cautiously optimistic about this film.
Personally, I’ve found it makes the viewing experience a lot easier if you take it for what it is at face value, and try not to compare it to the early 90’s cult classic films. If nothing else, don’t these images give you a pang of nostalgia for one of these bad boys you probably had growing up?
