Suicide Squad is a Dirty Dozen-esque film about a motley crew of incarcerated villains and anti-heroes recruited by the government for a suicide mission. You got a band of deranged killers and psychopaths… heck, there’s even a guy who’s a jacked-up humanoid Hammerhead shark, for crying out load. All of that, and the only thing people seem to care about is the Joker. And if it’s not the Joker, then it’s Batman.
Coming off the Jared Leto’s reveal as the newly tattooed, grill-toothed Joker – which, by the way, the internet was oh so open-minded to – comes visual confirmation of Ben Affleck’s Batman/Bruce Wayne appearing in WB/DC’s upcoming Suicide Squad. Rumor said Affleck himself would be making a more traditional cameo in the movie, and now a recent photo from the Toronto set practically assures it. So, let’s forget that this movie stars other people and get all batty about Bats.
Here’s a tweet from the Canadian entertainment show eTalk:

Not only was Affleck caught by paparazzi at the airport in Toronto, where the film is being shot, he was caught on set, in (seemingly) full Bruce Wayne-style attire.

Unless Affleck is on-set reenacting his job interview scene from Good Will Hunting and asking for some per diem, then we’re pretty gosh darn sure he’s on set as Bruce Wayne. He’s got the suit and tie, as well as his temples dyed the same grey we saw in the Batman vs. Superman trailer.
How much screen time Affleck will have in Suicide Squad remains to be seen. Likely, it’s a small cameo; acting as connective tissue between Batman V Superman and DC/Warners upcoming slate of films. It may also suggests we may be getting some back story for future Batman solo adventures out-of-the-way in Suicide Squad.
Suicide Squad opens August 5, 2016. Written and directed by David Ayer, it stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Viola Davis, Scott Eastwood, Ike Barinholtz, Adam Beach and Jim Parrack . It’s the third film in the new DC expanded universe.
