Marvel-Comics-Crossbones-Gun

Shooting on Captain America: Civil War is now underway in Atlanta, and it promises to be an adventure packed to the brim with callbacks, Easter eggs and surprise appearances. In fact, something this big, and with all the attention that a multi-billion dollar franchise brings to a project, it’s going to be hard to keep some of the details under wraps till opening day. To wit, some exterior scenes revealed our first look at Frank Grillo as Crossbones, the next level iteration of his Captain America: The Winter Soldier character Brock Rumlow, whose comic book visage is posted above. So is it everything you hoped it would be?

Behold! Courtesy of Just Jared, Crossbones. In the flesh. Or metal I guess.

I don’t know, he seems kind of Bane from Batman & Robin like in my humble opinion. Marvel‘s been pretty good at incorporating the essence of a character’s costume without adding any, shall we call them “spinning rims,” or otherwise trying to modernize the look to make it palatable for modern movie audiences. Maybe it will look better on film, right now it’s too soon to tell.

Well, if an image of Crossbones there isn’t enough to warm you up, here’s a look at Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie as Captain America and Falcon respectively, also on the set in full superhero uniform.
