Mickey, Spidey, and Yoda all under one roof? Disney has lots of other channels, such as ESPN, ABC, Disney Jr., and Disney XD; and Disney CEO Bob Iger sounds like he might be keen on expanding the family. During an investors call last week, Iger mentioned possibly creating TV channels for both Star Wars and Marvel, respectively.
Here’s Iger’s full quote from Daily Finance:
We have said that with these channels and these brands — ESPN, ABC, Disney, maybe even down the road something related to Star Wars and Marvel — we do have an ability as a company to take product, specifically filmed entertainment, television, movies, directly to consumers.
No details were divulged, but it’s safe to assume the channels would probably air their own respective movies, and maybe already existing or newly developed shows. With all the activity going on in the Star Wars and Marvel families right now, this seems like a pretty golden idea, and a perfect time to initiate its a great way to engage both new and old fans alike!
