Director Wes Ball is back to bring you the followup to The Maze Runner, a surprisingly entertaining movie. This time the group is out of the Maze and thrown into the Scorch. Game of Thrones favorite Adian Gillen is on board this time as Janson, better known to readers as The Rat-Man and I can’t think of an actor better able to pull off that role.
Thomas (O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers face their greatest challenge yet: searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful organization known as W.C.K.D. Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on W.C.K.D.’s vastly superior forces and find out they are being used as one big experiment.
I have to say that this series is looking good to make it through the whole book series on the big screen. Not every YA series that sells a ton of books always makes that transition.
The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials hits theater screens September 18th starring Dylan O’Brien, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Aidan Gillen, Giancarlo Esposito, Ki Hong Lee, Patricia Clarkson, Lili Taylor, Barry Pepper, Katherine McNamara, and Rosa Salazar.
